A message from Dean Mark P. Taylor to the WashU Olin community.
I trust everyone has seen Chancellor Martin’s communication on Thursday concerning travel policies and guidelines surrounding Thanksgiving break. The message he shared with undergraduates is the same message I want to share with Olin’s staff, faculty and students—including graduate students: If you travel beyond 60 miles from the university for Thanksgiving, you should not return to campus for the duration of the fall semester.
Please plan to work or attend classes remotely for the duration of the fall semester if you travel beyond the region for the Thanksgiving break.
We have made it this far into the fall semester with relatively few issues related to the pandemic thanks to our diligence and care. We must continue with the few simple public health protocols we know work: physical distancing, masking up and hand washing.
